Hello, I'm Beth!

I am proud to be Labour's Candidate for Corby and East Northamptonshire, fighting for the community I call home.

About Me

My family have lived in Corby for generations. I grew up and went to school here, and I played football for both Corby Cougars and Rushden & Diamonds. Growing up, I worked locally as a pot washer in a local cafe, in a local hair salon, in a warehouse and on shifts in McDonalds. This gave me a strong work ethic and I learned the importance of getting on with a wide range of people.

I have spent the past six years working in Parliament and on policy development and campaigns. Most recently – until I was selected as the Labour Candidate – I focused on implementing post-Crisis financial reforms as a public servant at the Bank of England, bringing in new measures to improve the governance of banks and putting in place more effective regulation of the financial services industry.

I believe passionately in Labour’s cause because I know the difference that an effective government can make to ordinary people’s lives. I know how my family and I directly benefited from the improvements a Labour Government and Labour-controlled borough council brought to my town. For example, Labour’s Educational Maintenance Allowance initiative meant I could afford to stay in education. It was an opportunity to reach my potential and it allowed me to go to university. I am committed to making sure that the people of this constituency get the best opportunities to succeed in their future ambitions.
